What are the troubleshooting methods for side-dump semi-trailers?

The troubleshooting methods for side-dump semi-trailers mainly focus on aspects such as the pneumatic braking system, suspension, axles, support devices, and electrical systems. The following are the specific troubleshooting methods:

Pneumatic braking system:

1. Poor braking and slow braking: Check if the gap between the brake shoe friction plate and the brake drum is too large. If it is, adjust the gap. Check whether the brake shoe friction plates are excessively worn. If worn, replace them. Check whether the air brake system is leaking air to cause the pressure to drop. If there is a leak, inspect the leaking components and repair or replace the parts. Check whether the emergency relay valve is not working properly. If it is, replace it.

2. Inability to release the brake or slow release of the brake: If the emergency relay valve already has an emergency braking effect, increase the pressure of the pneumatic braking system to the specified value. Check whether the return spring of the brake is broken. If it is broken, replace it. Check if the pipeline is blocked. If it is blocked, inspect and remove it. Check whether the brake air chamber push rod is bent. If it is bent, repair or replace the part. Check if the stroke of the brake air chamber push rod is incorrect. If not, readjust it.

Brake drag: Check if there is any air leakage in the inflation pipeline or joint. If so, repair it.

Suspension:

Noise: Check if the leaf spring is broken. If it is broken, replace it. Check if the nuts of the U-bolts are loose. If they are, tighten them as required.

Wheel and axle:

1. Tire wobbling: Check if the wheel nuts are loose. If they are, tighten them. Check whether the axle bearings are sintered. If sintered, replace the bearings. Check if the axle is bent. If it is, replace it.

2. Overheating of the wheel hub: Check if the brake shoes do not return properly. If not, adjust and repair them. Check whether the axle bearings are sintered. If sintered, tighten the bearing lock nuts correctly, replace the bearing lubricating grease on time or replace the axle bearings.

3. Severe tire wear: Check if the tire pressure is too high or too low. If it is, adjust the tire pressure as per regulations.

4. Uneven tire wear: Check for overloading or uneven loading. If so, load as per regulations.

Support device:

Excessive resistance when the crank is turned: Check if the lubrication is poor. If not, replenish the lubrication. Check whether the bearing is sintered. If it is sintered, replace it. Check whether the gears are eccentric or worn. If they are eccentric or worn, check and replace them. Check whether the thread of the lead screw is damaged. If it is, replace the lead screw.

Electrical system:

The car lights are not on: Check if the bulb is broken. If it is broken, replace the bulb. Check if the plugs or sockets are loose or damaged. If they are loose or damaged, repair or replace them.
